ペットも同伴可能という珍しい水族館です。
目を見張るようなカラフルな展示や奇を衒った仕掛けはほとんどなく、敷地や展示の数も規模の大きいとは言えない、中規模程度の極めて普通の水族館で、展示されている動物に触れることが出来るようなコーナーもありません。一方で、展示されている魚等の習性や知覚を観察したり、三浦半島・相模湾に生息する（陸上動物を含む）動物を中心に展示する等、世界中の水生生物を展示するのではなく展示の地域を絞ることにより、身近な地域の生態を知ってもらう、それらの生物の生態や習性を学んでもらうことに焦点を当てています。非常に限られた領域にもこれだけたくさんの生物がいることを知る切っ掛けになる水族館です。
イルカやアシカのショーを楽しむ施設もあります。但し観客席の段差は非常に急である上に、ショーの最中は暗くなるため、無暗に動くと転んで怪我をする恐れがあることに注意が必要です。園内の中央部には子供も楽しめる遊具もありますが、雨風を凌げる屋根等はありません。展望台もありますが、やはり悪天候時は遠くまで見渡せなくなってしまいます。悪天候時、特に子供連れは楽しめる場所が絞られてしまうのは少し残念です。
ペンギンのコーナーは本当に直に触れてしまうくらいの距離感ですが、決して触らないようにしましょう。下手に触ろうとすると怪我をする恐れがあります。

There are also facilities to enjoy dolphin and sea lion shows. However, the steps of the audience seats are very steep, and it's dark during the show, so be careful not to move unintentionally or you may fall and get hurt. In the center of the park, there are some play equipment for children to enjoy, but there is no roof to protect them from the wind and rain. There is also an observatory, but again, in bad weather, it is difficult to see far into the distance. It's a pity that in bad weather, especially with children, the number of places to enjoy is limited.
The penguin corner is so close that you can really touch them directly, but never touch them. If you try to touch them, you may get hurt.
