川崎大師の通称で知られる、現在の初詣のスタイルの起源とも言われる寺院。川崎駅から離れていることと、周囲が住宅街ということもあり、平日は比較的静かだが、休日には多くの参拝客・観光客で賑わう。
この寺院に限ったことではないが、特に休日には境内内に多くの露店が立ち並ぶ。彼らの商魂逞しさは舌を巻く程であるが、静かに参拝したり寺院の景観を愛でる側からすると時として邪魔に映ることがある。喧噪を感じることなく参拝するのであれば、平日がお勧めである。
境内はそれほど広くはないため、境内を周回するだけであれば30分も必要ない。境内には様々な建物があるものの、それらに関する説明書きは少なく、あってもほとんど日本語のみで英語などの多言語での説明は極めて少ない。また境内を案内するガイドもいない。歴史的な趣を感じるより、散策ルートの一つとして、肩肘張らず訪れるといいかもしれない。

Although there are various buildings in the precincts, there are few explanations about them, and they are mostly in Japanese, with very few explanations in English or other languages. There are also no guides to show you around the precincts. It might be better to visit the temple as a strolling route rather than to feel the historical atmosphere.
