閑静な住宅や高級ブランド店が立ち並ぶ街並みに溶け込むように佇む美術館です。美術館として主張しすぎないその佇まいは、そこを通る人に美術館があるとは気づきにくいかもしれません。その分心を落ち着かせて作品を鑑賞することが出来ると思います。
幾何学的でポストモダンな内装とは裏腹に、展示されている作品群は古来から脈々と続く日本美術作品が数多くあります。各展示室は広さや数は程よく、展示の数もそれほど多くはないため、鑑賞してもそれ程疲れることは無いと思います。
さらに、この美術館ではやや高低差の日本庭園があります。いくつかの茶室もあり、申請すれば利用することができます。美術館の周囲は高層ビルが少ないため、庭園を歩くと燦燦と降り注ぐ陽の光を浴びながら、ゆったり散策することできるでしょう。都内のオアシスの1つとも言える場所です。

While the interior is geometrical and post-modern, various valuable Japanese arts are exhibited. The number and size of the exhibition rooms are reasonable. There aren't too many art exhibits, so you won't get tired of watching.
In addition, the museum has a Japanese garden. There are several Japanese style tea rooms in the Japanese garden, which can be used upon request. Moreover, because there are few high-rise buildings in the area, you can take a walk while taking in the sunlight. It is one of the spots that can be called an oasis in Tokyo.
