宮島で行列が出来る有名な穴子飯食堂の1つです。豊国神社に向かう丘の上の、入り組んだ道沿いにある食堂で、少し分かりづらく、行くための道のほとんどに階段があるため、障碍を持つ方、大きな荷物を持つ方には少々利用しづらい印象があります。それでも、連日のように長蛇の列が出来る程の人気店です。
入店の時点で人が居なければすぐに店内に通されますが、既に満席の場合は予約となります。その際も店員（老齢の男性）に「『穴子飯』でいいですね？」と付加疑問文で事前に注文を取られます。穴子飯だけかもしれませんが、念の為他のメニューが無いかどうかをその時点で聞かないと、本当に穴子飯のみとなります。
この食堂は、何よりも回転の早さを重視しています。「入店出来るまで目安で○○分」といった情報提示もありません。入店可能になった時に列に居ないと、キャンセル扱いになりますので注意が必要です。
前述の通り回転の早さを重視しているため、入店し着席して数分後に食事が出てきます。もしかしたら作り置きの穴子飯が給仕されるのか、というくらいの早さです。それでも、穴子はふっくらと柔らかく拵えられ、タレの量や味の甘辛さも絶妙で美味しくいただきました。それでも、やはり量は少ないように感じ、物足りなさを感じます。
「宮島名物の『穴子飯』を、まずは食べてみよう！」という位置づけで利用する食堂だと思います。
