まるで近代の船内にいるかのような、薄暗く落ち着いた内装が印象的なレストランです。ところどころに船の小物類も配備されており、単に料理を楽しむだけでなく内装を見て雰囲気を楽しめるレストランです。また、給仕、調理係は、気のいいおじさん達。お客さんの少ない時は会話の相手をしてくれるなど、小気味いいサービスです。現代風のレストランやカフェには見られない、何ともノスタルジックな雰囲気が、多くのファンを集めていると思います。
メインメニューはカレーですが、洋食屋の定番のようなカルパッチョやカツレツ等の様々なサイドメニューもあります。サイドメニューは、いずれも現代に生きる人達の口に合う味や盛り付けですが、カレーは、明治後期にイギリスから日本に伝えられた味付けを再現しているものから、現代風、オリジナリティ溢れるものまで様々。定番メニューである『元祖よこすか海軍カレー』は、当時の旧日本軍に残るレシピをそのまま再現しているため、現代の味付けを基準にすれば、確かに味付けも薄く、お世辞にも美味しいとは言えません。それでも当時は奇妙且つ先端的な料理の一つであることには間違いなく、当時の人達の気持ちを想像しながら食べてみるといいかもしれません。
