Only = Truly speaking, it may be expensive but I'm lucky if you feel cheep.

I know = I don't know there but I can ask someone.

Heavy traffic = There are signals, we must stop at red light.

Very far = more than 100m by walking, more than 1Km by taxi, more than 50m for Philippina.

Maybe = No, I never go with you.

I'm sure = perhaps, probably, maybe. In some cases "no"

I'm on the way = I will go out from now.

I have arrived now = I'm on the way. See you after 10minuits.

No problem

When a trouble occurs, they use every time this phrase. When you hear this let's think that some big problem has happened. It means no trouble only for "them", not for you.

No change

Let's prepare small change for payment of taxi and sali sali store in Philippin. When I take out a 500 pesos bill or a 1,000 pesos bill, they always tell me "No change".
In Japan they give me change properly even if I take out ten thousand bill at a convenience store. In Philippine taxi drivers say " no change" even if they have it.

Only

If there is "only" behind an amount of money like "3000 pesos only for overnight stay" to hear a price, let's be careful. In many cases it's a rip-off price.

I know

I tell a destination on a taxi. I ask the driver "You know?"　because I'm afraid that is a slightly minor place. Even if there is a little interval, he surely answer "I know".
After starting running, Seeming to ask somebody by cellphone, only as for me?

Heavy traffic

When I tell " Meter please!" to the driver who won't switch the meter, he always use this cliche.
The traffic jam may be in Manila but no great traffic jam like New Year holidays in Japan.
Probably I think that there is not.

Very far

Another excuse of the taxi driver who is not going to put the meter is this.
The pricing of the Philippine meter taxi is for short distances. It starts from 40 pesos base fare and adds 3.5 pesos every 300m run. So It becomes only just a little over 1, 000 pesos even if it runs through nearly 100km. If they come back through the return with no guests it will be in the completely red at a gasoline cost rise. When it is a long distance, you may encounter refusal to pick up, like in Japan we used to meet in case of very short distance in 1980s.

If you ask a philippina "would you like to date with me?" and she answer " Maybe next time" it's a lip servis.

"Maybe" means "No".

Who is the stupid guy asks again on next day hearing " Maybe tommorrow" ?

You must not believe Philippina's "I'm sure"

I'm on the way

When you are waiting for a Philippina, she does't come in time. You call her and ask " Where are you now?"
She replies " I'm on the way."
But She must be in her house yet.
She is making up her face or changing her dress now.

I have arrived now

You are still waiting for her.
She is late more than one hour.
You call again " Where are you now!"
She will reply you "I have just arrived"
But you must notice she is still on the way.

Don't ask me why I know that.

  フィリピンへは何度も行ってるので、旅行には困らないくらいの会話はできるようになりましたが、ちょっと深くコミュニケーションとろうとするとうまくいきません。
